PROGRAM

This postgraduate course will run during an academic year, consisting of:

  • Two in presence learning modules, one at the beginning of the course (5 days-January) and the other at the end of the course (5 days-June)
  • and two distance learning modules (online) (January- June)
  • Modules 1 and 2 are designed as core training in methodology and statistics in dentistry in order to provide a solid common foundation.
  • Modules 3 and 4 address specialized training in research methodology in periodontology, implant dentistry and oral tissue regeneration.

Student's Profile
  • Doctoral students who wish to acquire research tools in the development of their thesis.
  • Master’s students in dental sciences who wish to acquire research tools to help them in the planning and development of their Master’s Thesis.
  • Postgraduate students specializing in the fields of Periodontology, Implant Dentistry and Regeneration of Oral Tissues.
  • Dentists who want to deepen their knowledge in research methodology applied to Periodontics, Dental Implants and the Regeneration of Oral Tissues.

Aims

The general aim is to provide the registered students the learning skills and tools to ensure their competency in research methodologies, enabling them to design and implement quality clinical research in the areas of Periodontology, Implant Dentistry and Oral Tissue Regeneration.

The specific aims are to ensure that students are able to:

  • Manage basic research tools.
  • Perform and interpret the results of the main statistical tests.
  • Develop a research protocol.
  • Understand and manage the bases of a scientific publication.

MODULE 1
Basic tools in research methodology and biostatistics in Dentistry

Advanced tools in research methodology and biostatistics in Dentistry

January/16/2027 to March/31/2027

April/5/2027 to June/16/2027
Distance learning (Online), with synchronic and asynchronic sessions.


MODULE 4
Practical Workshops and Evaluation
